To advance our understanding of the hormonal contribution to athletic performance, we examined the temporal associations between individual changes in testosterone (T) and/or cortisol (C) concentrations, training motivation and physical performance in elite and non-elite trained men. Two male cohorts classified as elites (n = 12) and non-elites (n = 12) completed five testing sessions over a six-week period. The athletes were tested for salivary T, C, T/C ratio, self-perceived training motivation, countermovement jump (CMJ) height and isometric mid-thigh pull peak force (IMTP PF), after which an actual training workout was performed...

BACKGROUND: The etiology of uterine leiomyomatosis is multifactorial and it is unknown if a relation between anti-Müllerian hormone (hormona anti-mülleriana) and uterine leiomyomatosis exists. OBJECTIVE: To determine the differences of hormona anti-mülleriana levels in women with and without uterine leiomyomatosis. METHODS: 60 women were studied (30 with and 30 without uterine leiomyomatosis). The diagnosis was confirmed by histopathology...

OBJECTIVE: To establish mean and reference range of basal serum Anti-Mullerian hormona (AMH) levels in a group of healthy fertile Bulgarian women. METHODS: The present report covers the results of 9 month's period in which 72 healthy fertile Bulgarian women, aged 20-40 years were selected to determinate a reference group of healthy fertile women with normal values of AMH. Blood samples were collected on early follicular phase of menstrual cycle (2-4 days). AMH was analyzed in duplicate with the use of a double-antibody ELISA...

REVIEW
I Sojo-Aranda, V Cortés-Gallegos
Some details about the function of natural and synthetical hormonas are reviewed, particularly estrogens as ethynyl estradiol and its 3, Methyl ether (mestranol); its peripheral concentration vs tissular hormonal contents, a relationship of biological importance as the first step in its hormonal action and the cummulative local effects that could explain some intra and extracellular phenomena.

G Sato, I Hayashi
The replacement of serum by hormones in cell culture media. Arch. Biol. Med. Exper. 10: 120-121, 1976. The serum used in cell culture media can be replaced by a mixture of hormones and some accesory blood factors. The pituitary cell line GH3 can be grown in a medium in which serum is replaced by triiodothyronine, transferrin, parathormone, tyrotrophin releasing hormone and somatomedins. Hela and BHK cell strains can also be grown in serum free medium supplemented with hormones...
