Injuries to the biliary tract during both the laparoscopic or the open cholecystectomic procedures, remain among the most serious iatrogenic injuries with high morbidity and mortality rates. The higher the number of the laparoscopic cholecystectomies, the higher the number of the injuries to the biliary tract.
