Vitamin K (VK) is a fat-soluble vitamin whose deficiency disrupts coagulation and may disturb bone and cardiovascular health. However, the scale and systems affected by VK deficiency in pediatric populations remains unclear. We conducted a study of the plasma proteome of 500 Nepalese children 6-8 years of age (male/female ratio = 0.99) to identify proteins associated with VK status. We studied proteomic features of subcellular fractions from rat hepatocytes and intensity of enzymatic and non-enzymatic free radical oxidation depending on the type of dietary fat during adaptation of animals to modified nutrition. Our results illustrate the formation of specific nutriproteomes in the microsomal and cytosolic fractions of rat hepatocytes (measurement of the macro-component and micro-component composition of diet).

During research specific proteomic pools of subcellular fractions of rats hepatic cells typical for different states of ontogenesis were identified. Taurine supplementation during early ontogenesis leads to a production of a catalase in rats' microsomes, that may be an evidence of activation of antioxidant defense system. The proteomic features of blood plasma and subcellular fractions of rat hepatocytes were studied during long-term dietary consumption of coenzyme Q10 as the endogenous mediator of antioxidant and energy homeostasis in the cell. Long-term coenzyme Q10 consumption was followed by the formation of specific nutriproteomes of the microsomal and cytosolic fractions of rat hepatocytes.

A comparative proteomic approach was used to assess the protein expression profile in the liver of 34days old pikeperch larvae fed from day 10 post hatching, with three isoproteic and isolipidic formulated diets varying by their phospholipid (PL) contents (% dry diet weight): 1.4% (PL1), 4.7% (PL5) and 9.5% (PL9). Using 2D-DIGE minimal labelling of liver extracts, we were able to show 56 protein spots with a differential intensity (p<0.05) depending on the dietary PL content. Among these spots, 11 proteins were unambiguously identified using nanoLC-MS/MS tandem mass spectrometry...
