Personal Comfort Systems (PCS) are equipments that heat and/or cool occupants without affecting surrounding environments, ranging from commonly used devices to innovative technologies, and that tend to be controlled by people. These systems aim to address energy consumption and occupant satisfaction issues related to centralised air-conditioning. Although there are systematic studies on these systems, there is a lack of documentation regarding mediation characteristics between people and the built environment...

The fenomenology is a philosophical method that has been widely used in nursing research specially in these related to women's health area and also in research related to care. In this article the fenomenology as conceptualized according to Heidegger's approach, its genesis, justifying the need to value the seek of the being, that is currently missed among technical concerns. Several current publications in this area help us to understand the human being in his subjectivity.

This study was originated in the interest to understand the nurse's autonomy. We accomplished individual interview with 8 nurses, which works in a hospital unit, and the focus of the interviews was their experiences in making choices in her settings. The analysis of the data, through fenomenologic analysis, results in the identification of 4 themes which explain the meanings that guidance the nurse's actions in work's situations, when she makes a choice. They are: "OBLIGATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS DEFINE THE INSTITUTIONAL ROLE OF THE NURSE", "IDENTIFY RESOURCES THAT SUPPORT HER ACTS", "TO FEEL WEAK FOR MAKE CHOICES", "TO TRY PRESERVE HERSELF"...

Localized lesions with kainic acid (KA) and local infusion of GABAergic drugs were used to study the role of the nucleus fastigii (NF) in postural tonus. Unilateral axon-sparing KA lesions of NF resulted in ipsilateral limb extensor atonia and contralateral limb extensor hypertonus and abduction. This effect lasted for 3-8 days depending on the dose of KA. Lesions of sites adjacent to the NF failed to produce postural asymmetries. Local infusion of the GABA agonist muscimol (10-50 ng) in the NF produced a reversible postural asymmetry fenomenologically similar to that produced by KA lesions of NF...
