Axicabtagene ciloleucel (axi-cel) is an autologous anti-CD19 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy approved for treatment of relapsed/refractory (R/R) large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL). In this review we summarize the current evidence describing the management of patients with relapsed/refractory MCL and outline the various novel therapeutics that have been developed over the past two decades.
