The assessment of early atherosclerosis (AS) is of great significance for the early diagnosis and mechanism research. Herein, a novel nanoprobe PCN@FL was developed to realize the simultaneous detection and imaging of phosphorylation and hypochlorous acid (HClO). The selective recognition of HClO was achieved through the specific interaction between DMTC and HClO, while the levels of phosphorylation were detected via the specific interaction between Zr (IV) and phosphates. The nanoprobe can be utilized to monitor the fluctuations in HClO and phosphate in early atherosclerosis...

Asthma is a respiratory inflammatory disease that seriously threatens human health. A growing body of evidence suggests that hypochlorous acid (HClO) plays an instrumental role in inflammation-related diseases, and therefore we hypothesize that it may be associated with asthma. Unfortunately, tracking HClO levels in asthma remains challenging due to the lack of effective measures for in vivo imaging. Herein, we exquisitely designed a near-infrared fluorescence probe dicyanomethylene-4H-pyran-dimethylthiocarbamyl (DCM-DMTC) for exploring the relationship between HClO and asthma, which has high sensitivity (about 76 times), a low limit of detection (44 nM), and great selectivity for HClO...

Microcellular injection molding technology (MuCell® ) using supercritical fluid (SCF) as a foaming agent offers many advantages, such as material and energy savings, low cycle time, cost-effectiveness, and the dimensional stability of products. MuCell® has attracted great attention for applications in the automotive, packaging, sporting goods, and electrical parts industries. In view of the environmental issues, the shoe industry, particularly for midsole parts, is also seriously considering using physical foaming to replace the chemical foaming process...

Hemorrhagic transformation (HT) is one of the most serious complications after endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients. The purpose of this study is to develop and validate deep-learning (DL) models based on multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to automatically predict HT in AIS patients. Multiparametric MRI and clinical data of AIS patients with EVT from two centers (data set 1 for training and testing: n = 338; data set 2 for validating: n = 54) were used in the DL models...

Hypochlorous acid (HClO) is an important bactericide, and adjusting the content of HClO helps to improve the host's innate immunity and resist microbial invasion. Aggregation-induced luminescence (AIE) is the opposite of aggregation-induced quenching (ACQ). Compounds with AIE properties emit weakly in a dispersed state in solution and they can emit strong fluorescence in an aggregated state. In this article, we proposed a new AIE fluorescent probe QM-ClO based on the quinoline-malononitrile (QM) fluorophore and dimethylthiocarbamate (DMTC) to detect HClO...

Heterologous hosts are highly important to detect the expression of biosynthetic gene clusters that are cryptic or poorly expressed in their natural hosts. To investigate whether actinorhodin-overproducer Streptomyces coelicolor ∆ppk mutant strain could be a possible prototype as a heterologous expression host, a cosmid containing most of the elm gene cluster of Streptomyces olivaceus Tü2353 was integrated into chromosomes of both S. coelicolor A3(2) and ∆ppk strains. Interestingly, it was found that the production of tetracyclic polyketide 8-demethyl-tetracenomycin (8-DMTC) by recombinant strains caused significant changes in the morphology of cells...

Accordingly, we developed a novel dicyanomethylene-4H-pyran (DCM)-based probe DCM-OCl for colorimetric and near-infrared fluorescent turn-on detection of OCl- . The probe exhibited excellent selectivity and sensitivity for OCl- over other bio-related analytes with a detection limit of 80 nM. The response was monitored by time-course UV-Vis and fluorescent spectroscopy. Multitask clustering tries to improve the clustering performance of multiple tasks simultaneously by taking their relationship into account. Most existing multitask clustering algorithms fall into the type of generative clustering, and none are formulated as convex optimization problems. In this paper, we propose two convex Discriminative Multitask Clustering (DMTC) objectives to address the problems. The first one aims to learn a shared feature representation, which can be seen as a technical combination of the convex multitask feature learning and the convex Multiclass Maximum Margin Clustering (M3C)...

Polo-like kinase 1 (PLK1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase and plays a critical role in mitosis. PLK1 has also been regarded as a valuable target for cancer treatment, and several PLK1 inhibitors are currently undergoing clinical investigations. In this study, our data show that the expression level of PLK1 is upregulated in human pancreatic cancer cells. Molecular modeling studies indicate that DMTC inhibits PLK1 activity through competitive displacement of ATP from its binding pocket. Our data further show that DMTC suppresses the proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells and induces the formation of multinucleated cells, ultimately resulting in apoptosis...

Organotin compounds used in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe production are of concern to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) because they leach from supply pipes into drinking water and are reported multisystem toxicants. Immune function was assessed in male Sprague-Dawley rats exposed to the mixture of organotins used in PVC pipe production. Although several of these organotins are reported immunotoxicants, their immunotoxicity as a mixture when given by drinking water has not been evaluated. Adult male rats were given drinking water for 28 d containing a mixture of dibutyltin dichloride (DBTC), dimethyltin dichloride (DMTC), monobutyltin trichloride (MBT), and monomethyltin trichloride (MMT) in a 2:2:1:1 ratio, respectively, at 3 different concentrations (5:5:2...
