The study of the stability of medicines is mandated by the International Conference on Harmonization and the World Health Organization. Rifaximin, an antimicrobial marketed in the form of tablets, has no record of stability studies. Thus, the objective of the present work was to investigate the behavior and stability of rifaximin tablets for 6 months under simultaneous conditions of temperature and humidity by UV, IR, HPLC, and turbidimetry techniques. A vaccine against herpes zoster (HZ) and its complications has already proven safe and effective against infection and pain and against the related deterioration of quality of life in the elderly. In order to inform the vaccination decision-making process regarding inclusion of this vaccine in the French immunization schedule, we assessed the cost-effectiveness of several vaccination scenarios, compared to no vaccination. We chose to use a previously published Markov model.
