INTRODUCTION: Chronic cervical radiculopathy is a common condition characterised by neck and arm pain, numbness and weakness. Both neck muscle activation and strengthening exercises are widely recognised treatments for cervical radiculopathy, but there is a research gap on the efficacy of neck muscle activation versus strengthening. This protocol will determine the efficacy of neck muscle activation alongside conventional care versus strengthening exercise and conventional care for cervical radiculopathy...

Mucoid degeneration of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) can be treated with arthroscopic debridement, however, instability can ensue. Here, we present a fit and active woman in her 60s with severe mucoid degeneration of the ACL who underwent conservative arthroscopic debridement and treatment with intraligamentous administration of platelet-rich plasma (PRP). After 1 month, the patient demonstrated significant improvements in range of motion and pain symptoms, with nil resultant laxity. The patient was able to return to all recreational sporting activities and professional duties...

One of the most important milestones of the International Federation of Sports Physical Therapy (IFSPT), a specialty group of the World Physiotherapy (WP) group, was the creation of the Sports Physiotherapy Competencies and Standards document. This statement, finalized by an international panel of experts almost twenty years ago, under The European Union-funded Sports Physiotherapy for All (SPA) project, describes effective professional behaviours and integrates specific knowledge, skills and attitudes in the context of practice...

PURPOSE: A treatment-specific rehabilitation protocol and well-defined return-to-play criteria guide clinical decision-making on return to normal function, activity, sports and performance after surgical treatment for osteochondral lesion of the talus (OLT). The optimal rehabilitation protocols in the current literature remain unclear. The purpose of this study was to explore the existing literature on rehabilitation protocols from the early postoperative phase to return to sport onwards after different types of surgical treatment of OLTs...

PURPOSE: Shoulder stiffness (SS) is a condition characterised by active and passive restricted glenohumeral range of motion, which can occur spontaneously in an idiopathic manner or be associated with a known underlying aetiology. Several treatment options are available and currently no consensus has been obtained on which treatment algorithm represents the best choice for the patient. Herein we present the results of a national consensus on the treatment of primary SS. Thus, this study aimed to analyse and compare how baseline variables are associated with future outcomes in patients with shoulder pain in primary and secondary care settings. On the basis of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), PCL injury is divided into surgical and non-surgical. In the last few years we have witnessed an increasing interest in regenerative medicine. The use of innovative techniques allow the reduction of rehabilitation times in sports injuries. Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) is a plasma-derived which stimulate the tissue repair...

Tracking followed by analysis of specific point-of-interest from conventional or high-speed video recordings have been widely used for decades in various scientific disciplines such as sport, physiotherapy, and behavioral science. When studying animal or human movement, combining motion tracking with other recording methods-like monitoring muscle activity or sensor signals-can yield valuable insights...
