The design of a unipole and a dual band F-shaped antenna was conducted to find the best parameters of prepared antenna. Antenna radiator part is fully made of polymer and nonmetal base composite. Thermoplastic polyurethane (PU) was chosen as a matrix and multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) as an electrical conductive filler, which creates conductive network. The use of the composite for the antenna has the advantage in simple preparation through dip coating technique. Minor disadvantage is the usage of solvent for composite preparation...

Recurrence analyses are typically performed on discretized time series after applying proper embeddings, delays, and thresholds. In our study of atrial electrograms, we found limitations to this approach when sequential bipolar complexes were defined as the timings of the first two zero crosses following the initiation of each event. The reason for this is that each bipolar component consists of two points in odd-even pairings. Since recurrence analysis starts vectors on each sequential point, incorrect even-odd pairings occur for every other vector...

The reliability of piezoelectric transformers (PT) is dependent upon the quality of fabrication technique as any heterogeneity, prestress or misalignment can lead to spurious response. In this study, unipoled multilayer PTs were investigated focusing on highpower composition and co-firing profile in order to provide low-temperature synthesized high quality device measured in terms of efficiency and power density. The addition of 0.2 wt% CuO into Pb0.98Sr0.02(Mg1/3Nb2/3)0.06(Mn1/3Nb2/3)0.06(Zr0.48Ti0.52)0.86 O 3 (PMMnN-PZT) reduces the co-firing temperature from 1240 °C to 930 °C, which allows the use of Ag/Pd inner-electrode instead of noble Pt inner-electrode...

INTRODUCTION: Bipolar voltage is used during electroanatomic mapping to define abnormal myocardium, but the effect of activation rate on bipolar voltage is not known. We hypothesized that bipolar voltage may change in response to activation rate. By examining corresponding unipolar signals we sought to determine the mechanisms of such changes. METHODS AND RESULTS: LA extrastimulus mapping was performed during CS pacing in 10 patients undergoing first time paroxysmal atrial fibrillation ablation...

Locating atrial fibrillation (AF) focal and rotor sources can help improve target ablation therapy for AF. However, it remains unclear how to use the information provided by multi-polar diagnostic catheters (MPDC) to locate AF sources. Our aim was to develop a catheter-guidance algorithm to locate AF focal and rotor sources using a conventional MPDC. We simulated a 10 cm × 10 cm atrial tissue with focal and rotor sources using the Nygren et al. ionic model. We modeled a Lasso MPDC with 20-unipole electrodes placed with a spacing of 4...

Abrasives are one of key influencing factors on surface quality during chemical mechanical polishing (CMP). Silica sol, a widely used abrasive in CMP slurries for sapphire substrates, often causes lower material removal rate (MRRs). In the present paper, Fe-doped colloidal SiO2 composite abrasives were prepared by a seed-induced growth method in order to improve the MRR of sapphire substrates. The CMP performance of Fe-doped colloidal SiO2 abrasives on sapphire substrates was investigated using UNIPOL-1502 CMP equipment...

BACKGROUND: We investigated patterns of intramural activation in early human ventricular fibrillation (VF) and hypothesized that intramural reentry colocalizes to sites with increased intramural fibrosis. METHODS AND RESULTS: Thirteen human Langendorff hearts were used for this study. Twenty-five plunge needles (4 unipoles/needle) were used to map 100 intramural sites. For the global mapping component, 11 20-s episodes of early VF were studied in 6 hearts. Simultaneous activation of all 4 electrodes was the most common pattern observed in 48...

The performance of a chemical process plant can gradually degrade due to deterioration of the process equipment and unpermitted deviation of the characteristic variables of the system. Hence, advanced supervision is required for early detection, isolation and correction of abnormal conditions. This work presents the use of an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) for online fault diagnosis of a gas-phase polypropylene production process with emphasis on fast and accurate diagnosis, multiple fault identification and adaptability...

In present work, a ring-type unipoled step-down piezoelectric transformer with the dimensions of Phi16x0.7 mm(3) was designed and fabricated using relaxor ferroelectric single crystal (1-x)Pb(Mg(1/3)Nb(2/3))O(3)-xPbTiO(3) (PMN-PT). Both the input and output parts of this transformer were poled along the thickness direction, utilizing the radial vibration mode of PMN-PT. The electrical measurement results indicated that under the matching load resistance of 257 Omega, a voltage transformation ratio of 0.44 was obtained at the resonance frequency of 105 kHz...

BACKGROUND: Epicardial mapping has shown that atrial substrate may play a role in the characteristics of the resulting atrial fibrillation (AF). However, it is not known whether these differences also occur in 3 dimensions. OBJECTIVE: This study sought to examine the 3-dimensional characteristics of AF by simultaneously analyzing AF on the epicardial and endocardial surfaces. METHODS: Dogs were divided into 5 groups: congestive heart failure (CHF), rapid atrial pacing (RAP), mitral regurgitation (MR), control, and methylcholine...

Piezoelectric transformers are increasingly getting popular in the electrical devices owing to several advantages such as small size, high efficiency, no electromagnetic noise and non-flammable. In addition to the conventional applications such as ballast for back light inverter in notebook computers, camera flash, and fuel ignition several new applications have emerged such as AC/DC converter, battery charger and automobile lighting. These new applications demand high power density and wide range of voltage gain...

We designed a universal primer (UNIPOL) for DNA amplification of AIDS-related viruses. The phylogenetic tree constructed from the presumed sequences amplified with UNIPOL was representative of the tree calculated from whole pol gene sequences so far reported. UNIPOL was able to amplify the sequences of all four major groups of primate lentiviruses and also that of a distinct virus from a Ghanaian patient with an AIDS-related complex, designated GH-2. This strain scarcely hybridizes with known HIV/simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) DNA probes...
