Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological features, diagnosis, treatment and outcomes of pregnancy with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). Methods: The clinicopathological data of 7 patients of pregnancy with NHL admitted to Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital from January 2010 to May 2022 were reviewed. General information, diagnosis, treatment and maternal and child outcomes were retrospectively analyzed. Results: (1) The median age of the 7 patients was 28 years old (range: 26-33 years); 3 cases complained of abdominal pain (2 cases of huge pelvic or abdominal mass with multiple metastases), 2 cases of cough (1 case with superior vena cava syndrome), 1 case of facial swelling and pain, and 1 case of poor appetite...

AIM: To investigate whether spleen imaging characteristics of baseline 2-[18 F]-fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose (18 F-FDG) positron-emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) can help to predict the clinical outcome in complete response (CR) diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Three hundred and six patients with DLBCL were enrolled in the study and divided into recurrence and non-recurrence groups. The splenic abnormalities were compared using the chi-square test and quantitative indexes were compared using the t-test...

BACKGROUND: High-grade lymphoma in dogs is a chemotherapy-responsive neoplasia with remission rates exceeding 80% under combination chemotherapy protocols. Usually these protocols are intensive and 24 + weeks. The objective of the present study was to investigate if a shorter protocol combined with an oral lomustine maintenance treatment (3 × in 8 weeks) would present an acceptable result, both for B- and T-cell lymphomas, and for the different types of lymphomas normally encountered in private veterinary practice...

Marginal zone lymphomas (MZLs) represent about 7% of B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphomas and include 3 different subtypes-namely, extranodal (EMZL), nodal, and splenic (SMZL). The initial assessment requires specific diagnostic and staging procedures depending on organ-related peculiarities. In particular, although positron emission tomography/computed tomography was not initially recommended, recent data have reassessed its role in the routine staging of MZL, especially when only localized treatment is planned or there is a suspicion of histologic transformation...

T-cell/histiocyte-rich B-cell lymphoma is a high-grade, morphologic variant of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. T-cell/histiocyte-rich B-cell lymphoma. It is rare as a primary splenic involvement and is usually reported as a second malignancy after hairy cell leukemia. Here, we report the first case that describes the occurrence of primary splenic T-cell/histiocyte-rich B-cell lymphoma in a patient with a previous diagnosis of recurrent hairy cell leukemia. A 53-year-old male patient was diagnosed with hairy cell leukemia in 1996 and achieved complete remission with Pentostatin...

Follicular lymphoma (FL) and marginal zone lymphoma (MZL) are indolent mature B-cell neoplasms with variable clinical presentation and distinct histopathologic features. Recent advances in the biology and molecular characteristics of these lymphomas have further expanded our understanding of the heterogeneous nature of these lymphomas, with increasing recognition of specific disease entities within the broader categories of FL and MZL. Here, we discuss the conclusions of the 2022 International Consensus Classification of Mature Lymphoid Neoplasms (2022 ICC) dealing with FL, and review differences with the proposed WHO 5th Edition classification...

A 76-year-old man presented with skin plaque and splenic nodules, and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) with infiltration of T-cells was suspected based on the skin lesions. The disease showed indolent clinical behavior for three months, when systemic lymphadenopathy rapidly evolved. An inguinal lymph node biopsy revealed DLBCL with abundant infiltration of T follicular helper (TFH) cells. A polymerase chain reaction-based analysis of immunoglobulin variable heavy chain showed that the skin, splenic nodules, and inguinal lymph node shared the same clone...

Lymphoblastic lymphoma (LBL) is the common non-Hodgkin lymphoma in childhood and adolescence. T-cell LBL (T-LBL) usually manifests with an anterior mediastinal mass and disseminated disease. We present a 12-year-old girl with progressive neck swelling and dyspnea for 1 year. Fluorodeoxyglucose positron-emission tomography/computed tomography done for pretreatment staging unveiled hypermetabolic lymph nodes on both sides of the diaphragm with splenic and bone marrow involvement. Apart from these, there was the extensive involvement of the left pleura...

Gammaherpesviruses establish lifelong infections in most vertebrate species, including humans and rodents, and are associated with cancers, including B cell lymphomas. While type I and II interferon (IFN) systems of the host are critical for the control of acute and chronic gammaherpesvirus infection, the cell type-specific role(s) of IFN signaling during infection is poorly understood and is often masked by the profoundly altered viral pathogenesis in the hosts with global IFN deficiencies. STAT1 is a critical effector of all classical IFN responses along with its involvement in other cytokine signaling pathways...

All of his prescriptions were stopped, and he was given granulocyte colony-stimulating factor because he was suspected to have drug-induced agranulocytosis. His neutropenia improved for a while, but it returned a month later. Diffuse large B cell lymphoma comprises a heterogeneous group of B cell-derived tumors, with different degrees of aggressiveness, as defined by their cellular origin and tissue microenvironment. Using the spontaneous Bc.DLFL1 lymphoma originating from a BALB/c mouse as a diffuse large B cell lymphoma model, in this study we demonstrate that the lymphoma cells display surface phenotype, IgH V-region somatic mutations, transcription factor characteristics and in vivo location to splenic extrafollicular regions of age-associated B cells (ABCs), corresponding to T-bet+ and Blimp-1+ /CD138- plasmablasts derivation...

Moloney murine leukemia virus (MLV) infects BALB/c mice and induces T-cell lymphoma in mice. Retroviral integration is mediated by the interaction of the MLV integrase (IN) with members of the bromodomain and extraterminal motif (BET) protein family (BRD2, BRD3, and BRD4). The introduction of the W390A mutation into MLV IN abolishes the BET interaction. Here, we compared the replication of W390A MLV to that of wild-type (WT) MLV in adult BALB/c mice to study the role of BET proteins in replication, integration, and tumorigenesis in vivo ...

Unique molecular vulnerabilities have been identified in the aggressive MCD/C5 genetic subclass of diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). However, the pre-malignant cell-of-origin exhibiting MCD-like dependencies remains elusive. In this study, we examined animals carrying up to four hallmark genetic lesions found in MCD consisting of gain-of-function mutations in Myd88 and Cd79b, loss of Prdm1 and overexpression of BCL2. We discovered that expression of combinations of these alleles in vivopromoted a cell-intrinsic accumulation of B cells in spontaneous splenic germinal centers (GCs)...
