A lutetium(III) complex based on the anion of the ligand dimethyl (2,2,2-tri-chloro-acet-yl)phospho-ramidate (H L ) and tetra-phenylphosphonium, of composition PPh4 [Lu L 4 ] ( L = CAPh = carbacyl-amido-phosphate), or (C24 H20 )[Lu(C4 H6 Cl3 NO4 P)4 ], has been synthesized and structurally characterized. The X-ray diffraction study of the compound revealed that the lutetium ion is surrounded by four bis-chelating CAPh ligands, forming the complex anion [Lu L 4 ]- with a coordination number of 8[O] for LuIII , while PPh4 + serves as a counter-ion...

PURPOSE: Many cancer survivors, facing the consequences of their disease and its treatment, have medical and supportive aftercare needs. However, limited knowledge exists regarding the relationship between support needs and survivors' self-management skills. The study aim is to explore factors contributing to cancer survivors' self-management skills. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted among cancer survivors (n = 277) of two outpatient oncology clinics at a university hospital in the Netherlands...

Materials based on Eu3+ and Tb3+ coordination compounds are of great interest due to their strong red and green luminescence. Appropriate selection of ligands plays a huge role in optimizing their photophysical properties. Another very helpful instrument for such optimization is theoretical modelling, which permits the prediction of the emissive properties of materials through intramolecular energy transfer analysis. The ligands that allow for achieving high efficiency of Eu3+ and Tb3+ emissions include carbacylamidophosphates (CAPh, HL)...

BACKGROUND: In Denmark, a large number of patients attend emergency departments (ED) every year. During their ED visits, examinations, tests and encounters with different healthcare professionals occur frequently. Moreover, patients receive much information. To protect themselves from the constant threat of bacteriophage (phage) infection, bacteria have evolved diverse immune systems including restriction-modification, CRISPR-Cas, and many others. Here, we describe the discovery of a two-protein transcriptional regulator module associated with hundreds of CBASS immune systems and demonstrate that this module drives the expression of its associated CBASS system in response to DNA damage. We show that the helix-turn-helix transcriptional repressor CapH binds the promoter region of its associated CBASS system to repress transcription until it is cleaved by the metallopeptidase CapP...

Capacitive-resistive energy transfer therapy (CRet) is used to improve the rehabilitation of different injuries. This study aimed to evaluate and compare the changes in temperature and current flow during different CRet applications on upper and lower molars and incisors, with and without implants, on ten cryopreserved corpses. Temperatures were taken on molars and incisors with invasive devices and skin temperature was taken with a digital thermometer at the beginning and after treatments. Four interventions: 15 VA capacitive hypothermic (CAPH), 8 watts resistive (RES8), 20 watts resistive (RES20) and 75 VA capacitive (CAP75) were performed for 5 min each...

Therefore, it is of great clinical significance to develop a dressing that promotes the healing process of deep burn wound. In this study, we used N-isopropyl acrylamide, sodium alginate and calcium chloride as the main materials, a series of calcium alginate/ poly (N-isopropyl acrylamide)(NIPAAm) hydrogel (CAPH) with different component ratios were synthesized. Intracellular pathogens can thrive within mammalian cells and are inaccessible to many antimicrobial agents. Herein, we present a facile method of enhancing the cell penetrating and antibacterial properties of cationic amphiphilic polyproline helices (CAPHs) with modifications to the hydrophobic moiety at the N-terminus. These altered CAPHs display superior cell penetration within macrophage cells, and in some cases minimal cytotoxicity. Furthermore, one CAPH, Pentyl-P14 exhibited excellent antibacterial activity against multiple strains of pathogenic bacteria and promoted the clearance of intracellular Shigella within macrophages...

The N-H group is involved in the formation of an intra-molecular hydrogen bond. In the crystal, mol-ecules do not form strong inter-molecular inter-actions but the mol-ecules are linked via weak C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming chains along [001].

The plant carbon balance depends on the coordination between photosynthesis and the long-distance transport of water and sugars. How plants modify the allocation to the different structures affecting this coordination under different environmental conditions has been poorly investigated. We selected small individuals of F. ornus (height ~2 m) from sites contrasting in soil water availability (wet vs dry)...
