This study examined physicians' participation and performance in the examinations administered by the Asian Intensive Reader of Pneumoconiosis (AIR Pneumo) program from 2008 to 2020 and compared radiograph readings of physicians who passed with those who failed the examinations. Demography of the participants, participation trends, pass/fail rates, and proficiency scores were summarized; differences in reading the radiographs for pneumoconiosis of physicians who passed the examinations and those who failed were evaluated...

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVE: Thoracocentesis is an invasive procedure routinely performed in the diagnosis of causes for the presence of pathological fluid in the pleural cavity. In many patients, a computed tomography scanning (CT) is also performed to diagnose the cause of the presence of fluid in the pleural cavity. The diagnostic value of CT is particularly high in situations in which performing thoracocenthesis could be associated with an increased risk of complications. The aim other study was to assess the relationship between the objective radiological features and the results of laboratory tests of fluid collected by thoracocenthesis in patients with pneumo-nias (n=18) and lung cancer (n=35)...

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the efficacy of ureteral tailoring with or without ureteral bladder reimplantation in the treatment of primary megaureter in children by transvesicoscopic ureteral reimplantation. METHODS: The clinical data of 21 children with primary megaureter in children treated with pneumo-bladder uretero-vesical reimplantation in Anhui Children's Hospital from January 2019 to August 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Two groups were divided according to whether intraoperative ureteral tailored was performed: 9 cases in the trimmed group and 12 cases in the no- trimmed group; 16 males and 5 females; age (4...

A 62-year-old woman was referred with poor vision following manual small incision cataract surgery. On presentation, the uncorrected distance visual acuity in the involved eye was 3/60, whereas slit-lamp examination revealed a central corneal edema with the peripheral cornea relatively clear. Direct focal examination with a narrow slit upper border and lower margin of detached rolled up Descemet's membrane (DM) could be visualized. We performed a novel surgical approach, "double-bubble pneumo-descemetopexy...

BACKGROUND: The study aimed to examine the conditions and factors affecting pneumoconiosis cases to determine the dimensions of the pneumoconiosis problem. METHODS: This retrospective study was conducted in a tertiary research hospital between January 1, 2014, and December 31, 2021. Five hundred ninety-seven patients with pneumo- coniosis were included in the study. RESULTS: Large opacities were detected in 157 cases. When we compared cases with and without Pulmonary Massive Fibrosis (PMF), age and concomitant pulmonary disease were higher in PMF cases, which also showed lower FEV1, FVC, and FEV1/FVC...

OBJECTIVES: PRIMARY: To characterize allergic asthma in patients followed at the Nancy University Hospital. SECONDARY: To estimate the impact at 12 months of the proposed specialized management. METHOD: Retrospective study including allergic asthmatic adults conducted between 01/01/2016 and 31/12/2018...

Anaesthesia for robotic surgeries done in steep trendelenburg position are associated with risks such as facial oedema, conjunctival chemosis, raised intraocular pressure, laryngeal oedema, and delayed awakening. We proposed the use of the cuff leak test in them to record the frequency of laryngeal oedema at the end of surgery and attempted to find its correlation with probable risk factors. We conducted a prospective observational study of 100 patients aiming primarily to assess the frequency of positive cuff leak test in robotic abdominal surgeries performed in trendelenburg position...

Tension pneumosella has been recognized as a very rare complication of pituitary transsphenoidal surgery. To the best of our knowledge, we report the second case of a pituitary adenoma "pneumo-apoplexy", which is characterized by findings consistent with tension pneumosella in the context of apoplexy of a pituitary adenoma; although it is an extremely rare diagnosis, it should be considered in patients with compatible clinical and radiological findings, particularly with a previous history of transsphenoidal pituitary surgery...

Pacemaker lead perforation is a rare complication of pacemaker device implantation. We report a case where a ventricular lead perforated through right ventricle, pericardium and went into left lung parenchyma without the development of pericardial effusion, cardiac tamponade, pleural effusion, pneumo or hemo thorax. Patient presented with complaints solely related to failure of pacing rather than disastrous or life threating complications. Echocardiography didn't reveal any evidence of perforation and it was detected on fluoroscopy and computed tomography helped in making the diagnosis...

In this meta-analysis, following PRISMA guidelines, PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science online databases were queried using the keywords "pneumocephalus," "pneumoencephalos," "intracranial pneumatocele," "pneumo encephalon," "subdural air," and "chronic subdural hematoma." The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), evolved into a global pandemic. As ACE2 on the surface of alveolar cells of the lung epithelium is one of the potential target receptors for SARS-CoV-2, the respiratory symptoms are the most common presentation of COVID-19. The aim of our study was to investigate the morphological findings in lung tissue after being infected by SARS-CoV-2 and compare histopathologic changes in patients with COVID-19 infection history who died to those who survived...
