Wound healing, particularly for difficult-to-treat wounds, presents a serious threat and may lead to complications. Currently available dressings lack mucoadhesion, safety, efficacy, and, most importantly, patient compliance. Herein, we developed a unique, simple, and inexpensive injectable chitosan-methoxy polyethylene glycol (chitosan-mPEG) hybrid hydrogel with tunable physicochemical and mechanical properties for wound healing. The detailed physicochemical and rheological characterization of the chitosan-mPEG hydrogel has revealed chemical interaction between available -NH2 groups of chitosan and -COOH groups of mPEG acid, which, to our perspective, enhanced the mechanical and wound healing properties of hybrid chitosan and mPEG hydrogel compared to solo chitosan or PEG hydrogel...

BACKGROUND: The existence of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) in tuberculosis (TB) patients is very dangerous for the health of patients. One of the major concerns is the emergence of MDR-TB in such patients. It is suspected that the development of MDR-TB further worsens the treatment outcomes of TB such as treatment failure and thus, causes disease progression. AIM: To investigate the impact of DM on the Emergence of MDR-TB and Treatment Failure in TB-DM comorbid patients...

Ensembl (https://www.ensembl.org) is a freely available genomic resource that has produced high-quality annotations, tools, and services for vertebrates and model organisms for more than two decades. In recent years, there has been a dramatic shift in the genomic landscape, with a large increase in the number and phylogenetic breadth of high-quality reference genomes, alongside major advances in the pan-genome representations of higher species. In order to support these efforts and accelerate downstream research, Ensembl continues to focus on scaling for the rapid annotation of new genome assemblies, developing new methods for comparative analysis, and expanding the depth and quality of our genome annotations...

INTRODUCTION: There is evidence that neurodevelopmental disorders are associated with chromosomal abnormalities. Current genetic testing can clinch an exact diagnosis in 20-25% of such cases. Case Description. A 3 years and 11 months old boy with global developmental delay had repetitive behaviors and hyperkinetic movements. He was stunted and underweight. He had ataxia, limb dyskinesia, triangular face, microcephaly, upward slanting palpebral fissure, hypertelorism, retrognathia, posteriorly rotated ears, long philtrum, thin lips, broad nasal tip, polydactyly, tappering fingers, and decreased tone in the upper and lower limbs with normal deep tendon reflexes...

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNA molecules that play pivotal roles in regulating gene expression and have been implicated in the pathogenesis of numerous cancers. miRNA-3652, though relatively less explored, has recently emerged as a potential key player in ovarian cancer's molecular landscape. This review aims to delineate the functional significance and tumor progression role of miRNA-3652 in ovarian cancer, shedding light on its potential as both a diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target. A comprehensive literature search was carried out using established databases, the focus was on articles that reported the role of miRNA-3652 in ovarian cancer, encompassing mechanistic insights, functional studies, and its association with clinical outcomes...

The consumption of trace minerals (lead) is very toxic to the vital organs of the body, therefore the overcome of these minerals is very necessary. In this regard, this study aimed to assess the potential pharmacological effect of aqueous and ethanolic extract of Argyrolobium roseum (Camb.) Jaub & Spach against pb-induced oxidative stress, histological changes in Pb-induced rats' liver and kidney, and anti-inflammatory effect...

Poliomyelitis is a condition of great concern and is endemic in only two countries of the world: Pakistan and Afghanistan. Community mobilization plays a vital role in raising awareness and can help reduce polio vaccine refusals. The objective of this study will be to decrease polio vaccine refusals and zero-dose vaccines by motivating behavior change through the provision of conditional-collective-community-based incentives (C3Is) based on a reduction in polio vaccine refusals. The project will adopt a pretest/post-test quasi-experimental design with two intervention high-risk union councils (HRUCs) and two control union councils (UCs) of peri-urban (Karachi) and rural (Bannu) settings in Pakistan...

An Internet of Things (IoT) network is prone to many ways of threatening individuals. IoT sensors are lightweight, lack complicated security protocols, and face threats to privacy and confidentiality. Hackers can attack the IoT network and access personal information and confidential data for blackmailing, and negatively manipulate data. This study aims to propose an IoT threat protection system (IoTTPS) to protect the IoT network from threats using an ensemble model RKSVM, comprising a random forest (RF), K nearest neighbor (KNN), and support vector machine (SVM) model...

The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated the development of reliable diagnostic methods for accurately detecting the novel coronavirus and its variants. Deep learning (DL) techniques have shown promising potential as screening tools for COVID-19 detection. In this study, we explore the realistic development of DL-driven COVID-19 detection methods and focus on the fully automatic framework using available resources, which can effectively investigate various coronavirus variants through modalities. We conducted an exploration and comparison of several diagnostic techniques that are widely used and globally validated for the detection of COVID-19...

INTRODUCTION: Anderson-Hynes pyeloplasty is the technique of choice for the treatment of pyeloureteral junction obstruction (PUJO) with an excellent success rate. Minimally invasive surgery has become the standard of care for the management of PUJO in children. Although it has been comparable to the open approach at all levels, its diffusion or employment in younger children has not been widely adopted. Our aim is to evaluate laparoscopic pyeloplasty outcomes from international academic centers in children under 1 year of age, focusing on feasibility and outcomes including possible complications...

Pelviureteric junction obstruction, also known as ureteropelvic junction obstruction, is a congenital narrowing of the urinary excretory tract at the junction between the renal pelvis and the ureter and is a common cause of congenital pelvicalyceal dilatation. The outcome is variable, from spontaneous resolution to renal parenchymal function loss in cases of untreated high-grade obstruction. Abnormalities in renal ascent, rotation and vascularity can be associated with pelviureteric junction obstruction and easily overlooked radiologically...

Due to the increasing demand for higher production rates in the manufacturing sector, there is a need to manufacture finished or near-finished parts. Burrs and surface roughness are the two most important indicators of the surface quality of any machined parts. In addition to this, there is a constant need to reduce energy consumption during the machining operation in order to reduce the carbon footprint. Milling is one of the most extensively used cutting processes in the manufacturing industry. This research was conducted to investigate the effect of machining parameters on surface roughness, burr width, and specific energy consumption...
