Megaprepuce (MP) is a rare and challenging condition characterised by an excessive inner prepuce, paucity of penile skin and an extremely narrow phimotic ring. The aetiological factors leading to its development are poorly understood. A variety of surgical techniques have been described in the last 26 years mostly with small number of patients and short follow-up. It is also highly likely that some series have in the past included different variants of inconspicuous penis combining concealed penis, MP and webbed penis...

Buried penis is a condition where the penis is hidden by abdominal or suprapubic skin or fat. In adult men, buried penis occurs as an acquired condition most commonly caused by morbid obesity. The clinical characteristics of three obese men with adult acquired buried penis are described and the associated features of the buried penis are reviewed. In addition to morbid obesity, a buried penis can result from other etiologies, such as hidradenitis suppurativa, iatrogenic causes such as elective surgeries, infections, lichen sclerosus, penoscrotal lymphedema, and traumatic events...

We aimed to evaluate the feasibility and long-term functional outcomes of surgical correction of adult buried penis patients due to complications of childhood circumcision. A retrospective analysis was performed for patients who underwent treatment for buried penis between 1997 and 2019. An autologous split-thickness skin graft (STSG) was used. Surgical management steps included circumcision, resection of the bands between the corpora and other tissues, harvesting of STSG from femoral region and graft application...

INTRODUCTION: A hidden penis can interfere with normal hygiene, prevent effective voiding, restrict sexual activity, and cause great embarrassment to the patient. The terms "hidden," "buried," and "trapped" penis are used interchangeably. To date, there is no classification system that adequately characterizes the spectrum of this condition. In this study, we propose a simplified nomenclature and classification system for adult-acquired hidden penis. METHODS: We performed a retrospective review of all adult patients treated surgically for hidden penis by the senior author from 2009 to 2019...

INTRODUCTION: Calculi encountered in the lower urinary tract typically reside within the bladder, less often in the urethra. In this video, we present a minimally invasive endoscopic approach for removal of the largest total stone volume in the lower urinary tract reported in the literature to date. METHODS: A 25-year-old male (body mass index 61 kg/m2 ) with neurogenic bladder presented with urosepsis and acute kidney injury secondary to obstructive uropathy. Computerized tomography (CT) of the abdomen and pelvis demonstrated bilateral severe hydroureteronephrosis, a 4...

PURPOSE: Adult acquired buried penis (AABP) can present with concomitant Lichen Sclerosus (LS), a chronic dermatosis that may affect surgical outcomes. Our aim was to evaluate outcomes of patients undergoing AABP repair with and without LS. METHODS: A retrospective cohort study was performed for AABP repair patients at a single institution from 1/1991 to 12/2017. Patient characteristics and surgical and peri-operative outcomes, including success, erectile function, and complications, were collected...

Obesity is increasing in prevalence worldwide and an increasingly commonly encountered condition is adult acquired buried penis (AABP). We review the current management of AABP and relevant literature. Management of AABP requires a combination of genitourinary reconstructive techniques and plastic surgery techniques that are unique to this condition. We offer our experience and tips and tricks for the treatment of AABP.

Skin grafting is a closure technique widely used in plastic surgery. Urologists may encounter patients with diseases that lead to severe tissue loss due to infection, trauma, burns, malignancy, skin maladies, or primary lymphedema. The development and study of skin harvesting techniques to manage tissue coverage of burns has allowed for great advances and the widening application of skin grafting. As such, there is a growing recognition and application of skin grafts within urology. The aim of surgical treatment and skin grafting within urology is to preserve genital function, improve quality of life, and restore cosmetic damage...

Penile prosthesis implantation for treatment of medical refractory erectile dysfunction remains the gold standard. However, some men have additional pathology present such as Peyronie's Disease, penile shortening, penoscrotal webbing, buried penis or other penoscrotal anatomical abnormalities that may be addressed at the time of prosthesis implantation. Although several techniques are described, there remains a lack of data regarding the outcomes. We sought to identify the results of available literature regarding the additional procedures performed at the time of penile prosthesis implantation that provide defined surgical outcomes rather than merely describe surgical techniques...

PURPOSE: To describe the prevalence and surgical management of coexistent adult acquired buried penis (AABP) and urethral stricture disease. AABP patients often have urinary dribbling with resultant chronic local moisture, infection, and inflammation that combine to cause urethral stricture disease. METHODS: A multi-institutional retrospective study was conducted of the surgical management strategies for patients with concurrent AABP and urethral stricture disease from 2010 to 2017...
