OBJECTIVES: To enhance the daily training quality of athletes without inducing significant physiological fatigue, aiming to achieve a balance between training efficiency and load. DESIGN METHODS: Firstly, we developed an activity classification training model using the random forest algorithm and introduced the "effective training rate" (the ratio of effective activity time to total time) as a metric for assessing athlete training efficiency. Secondly, a method for rating athlete training load was established, involving qualitative and quantitative analyses of physiological fatigue through subjective fatigue scores and heart rate data...

OBJECTIVE: This paper describes the individual-level correlates of self and dependent-child COVID-19 vaccination behavior among adults in rural America. METHODS: We draw on the data from a large-scale survey of rural Americans conducted in 2022, after most Americans had the opportunity to receive the vaccination easily and freely. The survey yielded an analytic sample of 841 adults and 530 adults with dependent children. We fit a series of linear probability models predicting vaccine refusal and full vaccination for adult respondents and vaccine refusal and full vaccine coverage among their dependent children...

OBJECTIVES: This study investigated the relationship between health checkups, cervical cancer screenings, and breast cancer screenings (collectively referred to as wellness examinations) of wives and health checkups of their husbands. We aimed to develop strategies to encourage wellness examinations among married individuals in Japan. METHODS: This study used the 2019 Comprehensive Survey of Living Conditions, focusing on married couples aged 40-64. We analyzed the percentage of wives undergoing wellness examinations, grouped based on whether their husbands had undergone health checkups...

The prevalent interpretation of COVID-19 mortality underreporting typically focuses on authoritarian regimes' propensity for data manipulation. This study, however, posits that the demand side is integral to enhancing the veracity of COVID-19 mortality figures. Through quantitative analysis, it is demonstrated that legislative oversight of the executive significantly correlates with the divergence between excess mortality and officially reported COVID-19 mortality. Moreover, such oversight is shown to bolster the influence of bureaucratic capacity on the precision of mortality data...

The study's purpose was to report PA by age, gender, and playground feature to inform potential playground configurations more conducive to PA during recess. METHODS: Using the System for Observing Play and Leisure Activity in the Youth, kindergarten through 5th grade recesses were observed on at least four days at four schools in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States during May 2023...

RESULTS: Female adolescents (more influential in counties), low economic status (more influential in metropolitan cities), perceived stress (more influential in metropolitan cities), depression (more influential in counties), loneliness (more influential in counties), and anxiety (more influential in counties) were influencing factors in all areas, and the factors associated with suicidal ideation differed by residential area...

Low back and knee pain, as major symptoms and early signs of osteoarthritis, have restricted healthy life expectancy, and numerous guidelines have recommended therapeutic exercise as the first-line treatment for chronic pain. Proportions of medical and exercise consultation use for those pain have been unclear, and these may change in the future. We performed a cross-sectional study of 2,954 persons aged over 30 years in 2017 as a part of the Circulatory Risk in Communities Study. A generalized linear model with logit link and 11-year age-group moving averages were used to estimate sex- and age-specific average proportions of lifetime pain, chronic pain, and dysfunctional chronic pain of the low back and knee, and history of medical and exercise consultation use...
