Zearalenone (ZEN) is a mycoestrogenic polyketide produced by Fusarium graminearum and other phytopathogenic members of the genus Fusarium . Contamination of cereals with ZEN is frequent, and hydrolytic detoxification with fungal lactonases has been explored.
