Instabilities of the cervical spine after complete or incomplete corpectomy may be the result from resection due to stenosis induced myelopathy, tumors, infections or fractures. In this article, we report a 49-year-old female patient after surgical decompression and stabilization at C5/7 with permanent cervicobrachialgia due to cervical stenosis at C5/7. Corpectomy of C6 and stabilization of C5/7 were performed with a combination of cage and plate. At an outpatient control 16 months after reoperation, the patient complained of neck pain, while the control X-ray showed a fracture of the implant...

Liposclerosing myxofibrous tumor is a very rarely observed benign fibro-osseous lesion, which contains complex histological structures. It was first described in the year 1986. Histopathological examination of the lesion may show myxoid areas, osteoclastic activity, bone trabeculae similar to fibrous dysplasia, fat necrosis, ischemic ossification and rarely cartilage components. This lesion, which is particularly localized to the proximal femur, is thought to be associated with fibrous dysplasia. In this case report, we aim to present a liposclerosing myxofibrous tumor case, which was treated surgically, in light of the literature review...

A 22-year-old male patient admitted to our clinic with mild pain in left knee. Pain had started 10 years ago and there was no history of trauma. Pain was increased with kneeling. No abnormality was detected on physical examination. Imaging results revealed proximal tibiofibular synostosis in left knee.

In this article, we report a case of bilateral posterior shoulder instability, having reverse Hill-Sachs lesions of 25 to 50% of the articular surface on the right side, and of 50% on the left side. The defects were anatomically reconstructed after tuberculum minus osteotomy by elevation of the articular surface and buttressing with raft screws without graft usage. Early rehabilitation with pendulum shoulder exercises was started at third postoperative day. At postoperative sixth week, patient had full range of motion without instability and pain...

OBJECTIVES: This study aims to investigate the possible effects of leukocyte concentration in the content of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and the administration of PRP using a drug delivery system on chondrocyte proliferation in vitro conditions. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Blood from nine male patients (mean age 65 years; range 49 to 81 years) with advanced stage osteoarthritis who had not responded to medical or conservative treatments and underwent total knee arthroplasty was used to prepare two formulations: PRP with low concentration leukocytes (2000-4000 leukocytes/µL) was designated as pure PRP (P-PRP), whereas PRP with high concentration leukocytes (9000-11000 leukocytes/µL) as leukocyte-rich PRP (L-PRP)...

In this article, we present two middle-aged female patients with ulna fracture or medial meniscal tear resulting from dog-related injuries, which are not common. Both patients mentioned that pain started after their dogs pulled away their collar ropes strongly and suddenly. Both patients had postmenopausal osteoporosis and degenerative osteoarthritis. For this reason, ulna fracture and meniscus tear had developed with low-energy trauma resulting from dog-related injuries.

As general opinion, conservative treatment is usually suggested for closed humeral shaft fractures with radial nerve palsy; however, some authors advocate early surgical exploration, particularly for spiral fractures of the humerus accompanied with radial nerve palsy. In this article, we present a case of radial nerve palsy after fracture of the proximal-middle third of humeral shaft. A surgical exploration of the nerve revealed that the sharp tip of the bony fragment at fracture site was penetrated into the nerve and separated the nerve as two bands, almost like a ″buttonhole″ injury...

Congenital dislocation of the patella is a disorder that presents with dysfunction in extensor mechanism. Although congenital dislocation of the patella mostly occurs in children with genetic disorders, it may also occur in totally healthy children, despite rarely. In this article, we report a 16-year-old male patient who referred to our clinic with complaints of gait disturbance, frequent falls, and muscular weakness in lower extremity. The patient had no complaints during walking, but had difficulty in running and walking up and down the stairs...

OBJECTIVES: This study aims to investigate the effect of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on femoral head osteonecrosis and compare it with bone marrow injection and core decompression. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 30 healthy, adult, male New Zealand white rabbits (mean weight 2.25±0.15 kg; range 2.0 to 2.5 kg) were used in the study. To create experimental osteonecrosis in all rabbits, 40 mg/kg methylprednisolone acetate was applied intramuscularly. Rabbits were randomly allocated into three groups with 10 rabbits in each: drilling group, PRP group, and bone marrow group...
