This study represents simple inexpensive chromatographic determination of ciprofloxacin (CIP) and tinidazole (TIN) simultaneously in human plasma using HPLC-DAD followed by a pharmacokinetic application. C18 column was used as stationary phase with isocratic elution of a mobile phase composed of acetic acid solution (2%) and acetonitrile (85: 15, v/v) and ornidazole as internal standard (IS) with UV detection at 318 nm. The two drugs and the IS were separated at 6.55, 7.91 and 11.07 min for CIP, TIN and IS, respectively, with good selectivity and sensitivity for their analysis in presence of plasma matrix components and the drugs' metabolites...

Sulfonylurea drugs have significant binding to proteins in blood, with most of this binding believed to occur with human serum albumin (HSA). High performance affinity chromatography and affinity microcolumns containing immobilized HSA were used to investigate binding by the sulfonylurea drug chlorpropamide to normal HSA and glycated HSA, which is a modified form of HSA that has an increased serum concentration in diabetes. A novel UPLC-UV method was developed for analysis of timolol in human plasma using a simple, fast, and cost effective ion-exchange SPE procedure, followed by separation on a C18 UPLC column with a mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile, phosphate buffer, and sodium 1-octane sulfonate as an ion pairing agent. The method was fully validated according to US-FDA guidelines, and was found to be sufficiently accurate and precise for analysis of timolol in human plasma for clinical pharmacokinetic studies. In this study, the volatile molecule profile of Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes was evaluated using solid phase microextraction (SPME) and two dimensional gas chromatography time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC × GC-TOFMS). Here, seven serotypes (6B, 14, 15, 18C, 19F, 9V, and 23F) were analyzed in an isogenic background. We identified 13 core molecules associated with all seven serotypes, and seven molecules that were differentially produced between serotypes. Serotype 14 was found to have the most distinct volatile profile, and could be discriminated from the other six serotypes in aggregate with an area under the curve (AUC) of 89%...
