However they require multiple sittings and the response may be slow due to competing epidermal pigment in dark skin. Vascular lesions are common complaints reported in clinics and patients seeking treatment for aesthetic or functional issues. Vascular lesions such as hemangiomas can be found in the oral cavity and some therapeutic modalities can be used in the treatment of these lesions, which the Nd: YAG laser shows good results for easy implementation, fewer complications and satisfactory results. This study describes technique and outcome of a case of hemangioma located on the tongue treated with Nd: YAG laser.
