In this paper, a simple and highly sensitive spectrofluorimetric method was developed and validated for the determination of entacapone (ETC). The proposed method is based on forming a highly fluorescent product through the reduction of ETC with Zn/HCl. The produced fluorophore exhibits strong fluorescence at λem 345 nm after excitation at λex 240 nm. The use of fluorescence enhancers such as Tween-80 and carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC) greatly enhanced the fluorescence of the produced fluorophore by 150% and 200%, respectively...

The K2 Mg(SO4 )2 :Eu phosphor, synthesized by a solid-state diffusion method, was studied for its photoluminescence (PL) and thermoluminescence (TL) characteristics. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern of the material was matched with the standard JCPDF No. 36-1499. In this study, fluorescent silver nanoclusters (Ag NCs) were synthesized using denatured fish sperm DNA as the template. In contrast to other methods, this method did not use artificial DNA as the template. After their reaction with denatured fish sperm DNA, Ag(+) ions were reduced by NaBH4 to form Ag NCs. The Ag NCs showed a strong fluorescence emission at 650 nm when excited at 585 nm. The fluorescence intensity increased fourfold at pH 3.78, controlled with Britton-Robinson buffer solution. Urethane acrylate (UA) was used to prepare carbon quantum dots (C-dots) luminescent membranes and the resultants were examined with FT-IR, mechanical strength, scanning electron microscope (SEM) and quantum yields (QYs). FT-IR results showed the polyurethane acrylate (PUA) prepolymer -C = C-vibration at 1101 cm(-1) disappeared but there was strong vibration at1687cm(-1) which was contributed from the-C = O groups in cross-linking PUA. It was found that flavonoids could remarkably inhibit the chemiluminescence (CL) intensity of an off-line gold nanoparticle (AuNP)-catalyzed luminol-H2 O2 CL system. By contrast, flavonoids enhanced the CL intensity of an on-line AuNP-catalyzed luminol-H2 O2 CL system. A trivalent rare-earth ion (Sm(3)(+) )-doped LiNa3 P2 O7 (LNPO) phosphor was synthesized using a conventional high-temperature solid-state reaction route. A predominant orthorhombic phase of LNPO was observed in all X-ray diffraction patterns. The surface states of the LNPO:Sm phosphor were confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. In this article, a facile and convenient synthesis of thiazol-2(3H)-ylidine derivatives of fatty acid (3a-c) is described. This paper proposed a simple and sensitive approach for detecting graphene oxide (GO) in a wide pH range in environmental water samples using fluorescent β-CD protected Cu NCs based on the hydrogen-bond interactions between GO and 6-SH-β-CD. The influences of dilution ratio and pH were investigated.
