OBJECTIVE: To evaluate family medicine residents' training in, knowledge about, and perceptions of digital rectal examination (DRE). PROBLEM ADDRESSED: In 2006, leaders of undergraduate family medicine education programs faced a series of increasing curriculum mandates in the context of limited time and financial resources. OBJECTIVE: To determine if performance on practice simulated office orals (SOOs) conducted during residency training could predict residents' performance on the SOO component of the College of Family Physicians of Canada's (CFPC's) final Certification examination.
