Multiparametric MRI (mpMRI), interpreted using PI-RADS, improves the initial detection of clinically significant prostate cancer (PCa). Prostate MR image quality has increasingly recognized relevance to the use of mpMRI for PCa diagnosis. Additionally, mpMRI is increasingly used in scenarios beyond initial detection, including active surveillance and assessment for local recurrence after prostatectomy, radiation therapy, or focal therapy. Acknowledging these evolving demands, specialized prostate MRI scoring systems beyond PI-RADS have emerged, to address distinct scenarios and unmet needs...

The current radiology landscape has an imbalance between the rising demand for radiology services and the national radiologist workforce available. More vacant radiology positions exist than graduating radiology trainees. The origins of this problem are complex and require long-term solutions. Rather than working longer and/or faster, there are ways for radiologist to work smarter. In this article, we present multiple short-term strategies to increase the effective radiologist workforce and/or increase workforce efficiency, in order to alleviate the current workload challenges...

Background: MRI utility for patients 45 years old and older with hip or knee pain is not well established. Objective: We performed this systematic review to assess whether MRI-diagnosed hip or knee pathology in patients 45 years old and older correlates with symptomatology or benefits from arthroscopic surgery. Evidence Acquisition: A literature search (PubMed, Web of Science, Embase) was performed through October 3, 2022, to identify original research pertaining to the study question. Publication information, study design, cohort size, osteoarthritis severity, age (range, mean), measured outcomes, minimum follow-up length, and MRI field strength were extracted...

Background: To implement provisions of the 21st Century Cures Act addressing information blocking, federal regulations mandated that health systems provide patients with immediate access to elements of their electronic health information, including imaging results. Objective: To compare patient access of radiology reports before and after implementation of the information-blocking provisions of the 21st Century Cures Act. Method: This retrospective study included patients who underwent outpatient imaging examinations from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2022 at three campuses within a large health system...

Background: The energy demand of interventional imaging systems has historically been estimated using manufacturer-provided specifications rather than directly measured. Objective: To investigate the energy consumption of interventional imaging systems and estimate potential savings in such systems' carbon emissions and electricity costs through hypothetical operational adjustments. Methods: An interventional radiology suite, neurointerventional suite, radiology fluoroscopy unit, two cardiology laboratories, and two urology fluoroscopy units were equipped with power sensors...
